Of all cigar manufacturers, Rocky Patel Cigars is without a doubt the one with something for everyone. The 6” x 44 Corona is an awesome way to get acquainted with the blend, and is also the size that made the top 10 list! Medium-bodied and easy to enjoy, Number 6 is quite a satisfying smoke for any time of the day. Sweet floral notes are constant from start to finish, along with some hints of brown sugar on the finish. A burst of cedar is immediately noticeable, along with a generous amount of black pepper, soon settling into the background while earthy tobacco flavors take the driver’s seat. Each vitola is masterfully constructed and offers a generous draw and plenty of silky white smoke on each puff. The packaging for the Number 6 is stylish, simple, and contemporary, including a long black band with white and gold lettering. Rocky once again hit one out of the park, as Number 6 earned a 95 rating in Cigar Aficionado and a top 10 spot on the famed magazine’s Top 25 Cigars of 2020. The result is a medium-bodied cigar presenting a plethora of flavor and balance, exclusively aimed at the most discriminating cigar snobs. As for that blend, the wrapper is a golden brown Corojo leaf from Honduras, the binder is a Honduran Jamastran leaf, and the filler blend consists of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobacco from Jamastran and Jalapa, respectively. This masterpiece features high-end tobaccos from two different countries, all patiently aged and hand selected especially for this blend. Introduced in 2019, the Number 6 is one of Rocky Patel’s cigars still made in the company’s Honduran factory, El Paraiso. ![]() ![]() Making cigars that earn high ratings and rave reviews is nothing new to Rocky Patel, but with Number 6 Corona, he may have just outdone himself. The burn is slow and steady, with a total smoking time of just over an hour. Burn & Smoking Characteristicsįoundry’s Chillin’ Moose draws beautifully, producing tons of smoke. Once lit, the flavor profile is slightly spicy with plenty of rich, dark earth, leather, and salt. ![]() The cold draw is a bit tight but produces gentle flavors of rock salt and new vegetation with a slight hint of black pepper. The wrapper leaf gives off the gentle aroma salt and earth while the foot lends a spicy-sweet scent. The double cap is a bit off center but cuts cleanly using a punch cutter. The length of the stick is mostly plump with a few noticeable soft spots. Yes, you read correctly, they used US Broadleaf and Mexican San Andres leaves for fillers, because, why not?! Those delightful fillers are bound with an Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf and wrapped in a Habano Rosado leaf. This bad boy is filled with a mind boggling mix of tobaccos: Nicaraguan, Dominican, US Broadleaf, and Mexican San Andres. One of their most popular blends is the Chillin’ Moose.
